I put together half of my drawing and picture of the nyhavn canal, in copenhagen! another pic of it is here. There are some imprecisions, I know, but I’m pretty happy with the results :)
Denmark is now the first country in Europe where a ‘Gender Identity Disorder’/, Gender Dysphoria’ diagnosis is no longer necessary for a transgender person to be legally recognized as his or her preferred gender.
“This progressive and courageous step made by Danish MPs should set an example to the rest of Europe and beyond,” says Amnesty International Denmark’s Helle Jacobsen.
At the same time Amnesty International has started a campaign against the Norwegian government, arguing that the present system of medical gatekeepers and forced sterilization is against the human rights of Norwegian trans people.
Although Norwegians in general are LGBT positive, the system for both surgical treatment and legal recognition for transgender people is controlled by conservative doctors at the Oslo University Hospital.
It is interesting to note that their truscum-like practices are considered a human rights violation by Amnesty.
